Square Bale FeederSquare Bale Feeder
A 32”-wide to 48”-wide square bale feeder for horses.
Imagine if there was a feeder that could feed hay bales and grain? With Farmco’s square bale feeder for horses, there is. We created a square bale feeder that’s combined with a bunk-style grain pan. The result is a square bale horse feeder that can be used to feed hay, grain, or both simultaneously. It’s called multitasking.
For the hay rack part of the feeder, we used 3/8” steel rods welded to a frame of rectangular 1/8” steel tubing. This bale rack is built to hold a full load of square bales – time after time after time. The entire feeder is supported by formed steel legs. (For a model with shorter legs, see our goat hay feeders.) The grain trough under the hay rack is built from 12-gauge steel, with drain holes in the corners to get rid of excess moisture. Less moisture = less wasted feed.
One big perk of combining a square bale horse feeder with a grain feeder is the reduced hay waste. Instead of loose hay from the square bale horse feeder falling on the ground, it’s caught in the grain pan where it can still be eaten. When hay scraps are cleaned up, animals get more nutrition and feed costs go down. That’s a win-win situation!
Standard Features
At Farmco when we build square bale feeders for horses, we use heavy-duty 12 gauge reinforced steel with top-quality welds. After assembly, each square bale horse feeder is painted with a two-part polyurethane paint in Hunter Green. The paint is applied with an electrostatic process that ensures an even coat over the entire feeder.
Farmco’s square bale feeders for horses come standard with:
24” formed steel legs to support everything. (For a square bale feeder with shorter legs, check out our small animal feeder.)
