HL Series4-Wheeled Headlock Feeder
A cattle headlock feeder on wheels, up to 7’ wide, designed to feed large hay bales, chopped feeds, and TMR.
Catching cattle is a problem almost as old as cattle farming itself. The iconic image of a cowboy has him on horseback, swinging…a lasso. As cool as that looks, it’s still not as efficient as locking cattle up while they feed. The HL series cattle headlock feeder is designed to do just that.
To create the HL feeder, we partnered with Sturdy Built Manufacturing in Denver, PA, a long-time maker of galvanized dairy equipment. Together, we created a modified version of Farmco’s hay feed wagons, with headlocks built in. With a combination of 1” and 1.9” high yield galvanized tubing, the headlocks are built to handle even the rowdiest animals.

Standard Features
Each cattle headlock feeder we build is made with a combination of 12 gauge steel (on the trough) and high-yield galvanized tubing (on the headlocks). With strategically placed reinforcements and quality welds, these feeders are designed to handle the stress placed on them by large animals. Before they leave the shop, each cattle headlock feeder trough is coated with a two-part polyurethane paint applied electrostatically for even coverage. We want our feeders to be weather resistant for years to come.

An inverted V divider (on 7’ wide models) and slanted trough sides for consolidating feed scraps and simplifying clean up.
Individual cattle releases for freeing cattle one at a time (shown in locked position).

An extendable tongue, which folds up and hooks out of the way during feeding.
