How We Got Started

Farmco’s story began in the 1970s on a family farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where Christian Beiler started building auto-steering horse-drawn carts for neighboring Amish farmers. As demand grew, Grandpa Jonas Beiler and his son, Ben, expanded the business by manufacturing hay wagons and cattle feeders designed to make everyday farm work easier. In 1985, Ben officially founded Farmco, transforming a small family operation into a trusted manufacturer of durable livestock equipment. Today, under the leadership of CEO Michael Beiler, Farmco continues to build on that legacy. Farmco has combined generations of hands-on farming experience with a commitment to innovation, quality craftsmanship, and serving farmers across America.
